A gunman robbed a Brooklyn Park 7-Eleven Friday morning and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, county police said.
The man walked into the store in the 5600 block of Ritchie Highway about 3:30 a.m., made a purchase and then took money from the cash register when the clerk opened it. When the clerk tried to stop him, the man pulled out a small black handgun and threatened her, police said.
The gunman took the rest of the money from the cash register and ran from the store. Northern District officers were unable to find the man, police said.
The man was described as a black male about 35 to 38 and about 6 feet 2 inches tall with a thin build and a black mustache and otherwise clean-shaven. He was wearing a brown or black leather jacket, blue dress pants, white tennis shoes and a black knit cap.
Two men rob gas station store
Two men -- one armed with a revolver -- robbed a food market at a Jessup Shell station Thursday night and fled with an $H undisclosed amount of money, county police said.
The men walked into the store in the 2500 block of Annapolis Road about 8:15 p.m. One walked behind the counter, pointed a small black revolver at the clerk and told her to open the cash register.
The gunman grabbed money from the register and cigarettes from the shelves while the second man stood at the front counter. The gunman ordered the clerk into a back room and then both men drove off in a small maroon car, police said.
Annapolis record store robbed by two men
Two men made off with an undisclosed amount of cash from the Record and Tape Exchange store in Annapolis Thursday afternoon after one of them announced a robbery and showed the butt of a handgun, county police said.
The men had entered the store in the 900 block of Bay Ridge Road shortly before 5:30 p.m. One looked at compact discs and tapes while the second went outside. When the second man returned, the first man showed the clerk the gun and said, "Stickup. Give him the money -- fast," police reported.
The clerk gave the money to the second man, and the men left, heading toward the parking lot of a nearby McDonald's, police said.
Man charged in theft of five video games
County police arrested a Baltimore County man Wednesday afternoon on charges of shoplifting video games from the Best Buy store in Glen Burnie, authorities said.
Northern District Officer Samuel Sweet found the man in the restroom of the store in the 6700 block of Ritchie Highway shortly before 4 p.m. after he was alerted by store security officers. police said.
The security officers told police they saw the man hide five Sega game tapes in his jacket before he went into the restroom. The tapes were worth about $53 apiece, police said.
Ernest Carl Graham, 35, of the 6200 block of Ethel Ave., was charged with theft under $300, police said.
Police charge man with resisting arrest
A Glen Burnie man received eight stitches to his head 'D Wednesday morning after a Northern District officer clubbed him with his flashlight as the man struggled with police, authorities said.
Officer Mark Fraser saw a driver make a left turn at Aquahart Road and Ritchie Highway shortly after 2 a.m. and go through a red light without stopping, police said. Officer Fraser stopped the 1978 Buick in the 700 block of Greenway Road, where the driver got out, police said.
Officer Fraser tackled the man, who police say hit the patrolman in the jaw with his elbow. Officer Fraser hit the man with his flashlight to control him, police said. The man also struck two other officers who went to Officer Fraser's assistance, police said. There were four outstanding warrants for the man, according to police. One was an Anne Arundel County warrant for violation of probation; one a Baltimore warrant and the other two from Baltimore County.
John Leo Mohl, 22, of the 7900 block of Allard Court, was charged with resisting arrest, battery, driving without a license, driving through a red light and attempting to flee police, authorities said.
He was treated at North Arundel Hospital and then taken to the Northern District station, police said. He was still held yesterday on $50,000 bond.
