* Among the many New Year's parties in Annapolis was one by the YWCA with music and singing. The many guests were served chocolate, coffee and soft drinks. There were few "open" parties. Card baskets were conspicuous at the doors of many residences. -- Anne Arundel County Kuethe Library files, Jan. 2, 1895.
* A number of ex-Confederates met in Annapolis for the purpose of forming a society of ex-Confederates of Anne Arundel County. General Geo. A. Stewart was named temporary secretary. -- The Sun, Jan. 8, 1895.
* Mayor Thomas of Annapolis and a committee of aldermen are considering a franchise for an electric railway to operate within the city. Among the conditions is that the price of transportation per customer will not exceed 5 cents. -- The Sun, Jan. 11, 1895.
