A man armed with a semiautomatic handgun robbed a Pasadena bank Wednesday afternoon, police said.
The man walked into the Greater Atlantic Savings Bank in the 8000 block of Ritchie Highway about 1:30 p.m., said hello to the two female tellers, then pulled out the gun and said, "This is a holdup," police said.
He made the tellers empty their cash drawers before forcing them into a front storage room, police said. The tellers told police that the robber repeatedly pointed the gun at them and threatened to kill them if they did not cooperate, police said.
The gunman escaped, but the robbery was recorded on videotape. The suspect is a black male 20 to 30 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build, is clean-shaven and has a medium complexion. At the time of the robbery he was wearing a black wool hat, sunglasses, a Kelly green jacket and dark pants,
police said.
