ASSAULT: Western District -- A resident of the 1800 block of Kavanaugh St. was arguing with another man in the 1500 block of Presstman St. Wednesday when he was struck in the face with a metal pipe. The victim sustained an injured eye but refused medical treatment.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A gunman robbed a driver for Fleet Transit in the 2800 block of Franklin St. early Thursday of $52, a Swiss army knife and a money clip.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A resident of the 200 block of Atholgate Lane was walking near her home Wednesday when a man struck her in the face and stole her purse containing cash and property, all valued at more than $130.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A gunman robbed a resident of the 4500 block of Rokeby Road of two wedding bands, cash and a 24-hour bank card in the 600 block of Swann Ave. Wednesday.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Two men, one with a handgun, robbed a resident of the 400 block of S. Augusta Ave. of her money, purse and three shopping bags containing Christmas presents in the 2400 block of Frederick Ave. Wednesday.

SHOOTING: Northwestern District -- Two men were shot early Thursday morning while standing on a corner in the 4800 block of W. Belvedere Ave. The gunman escaped. One of the victims, a 20-year-old resident of the 4100 block of Penhurst Ave., was shot in the back. The second victim, a 17-year-old resident of the 3800 block of Dolfield Ave., was shot in the right arm. Both victims were treated at Sinai Hospital.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A resident of the 3900 block of Edgewood Road was walking near her home Wednesday when two men robbed her of a set of keys, pager, watch and a checkbook.

SHOOTING: Essex Precinct -- Police were seeking a man who shot a 17-year-old youth in the upper leg with a large-caliber semiautomatic handgun during an argument Tuesday night at Valley Arbor and Brighton Manor roads. The victim was taken to an area hospital.

THEFT/ARREST: Towson Precinct -- Police arrested a 36-year-old man from the 3100 block of Ravenwood Road in the " city who attempted to leave the Caldor department store in the 6400 block of York Road Wednesday without paying for four electric drills valued at more than $500. The man, Jerome A. Poole, was being held at the precinct pending a bail hearing in District Court. A second man also suspected of stealing property escaped.

ROBBERY: Wilkens Precinct -- A boy was at Skatebowl, a skateboard facility at Freeway and Bero Road, Wednesday afternoon when an older youth struck him with an unknown weapon and robbed him of a pager, jewelry and other property, (( all valued at more than $200.

ROBBERY: Wilkens Precinct -- A 20-year-old motorist was at Garden Ridge and Belle Grove roads Wednesday night when two men, one with a handgun, forced his way into his car and ordered him to drive off. At an undisclosed location in the city, the two men robbed the motorist of his watch, other property and $10 before leaving the car and escaping on foot.
