2 men charged with shoplifting
County police arrested two men Tuesday evening and charged them with shoplifting clothes from a J.C. Penney store, authorities said.
A security officer at the store in
the 7900 block of Ritchie Highway told police he saw two men put four Nike jackets into a J.C. Penney bag shortly before 8 p.m. and leave the store without paying. Security officers stopped the pair and recovered jackets worth $184, along with a $70 pair of athletic shoes, police said.
Robert Craig Whaley, 23, of the 100 block of Edgewood Ave. in Catonsville, and Gary Brian Whaley, 25, of the 1100 block of Marley Creek Drive in Glen Burnie were charged with theft under $300, police said.
Police could not say whether the two men were related.
