Colorado Rockies -- Signed free-agent P Marvin Freeman (10-2, 2.80 ERA) to a two-year contract. Announced that they will not pick up the $487,500 option on P Willie Blair (0-5, 5.79 ERA) for the 1995 season.
Houston Astros -- Agreed to terms with free-agent OF Milt Thompson on a 1995 contract worth $525,000; he hit .273 for the vTC Philadelphia Phillies and .286 for Houston.
New York Mets -- Signed P Doug Henry to a one-year contract.
New York Yankees -- Announced that P Joe Ausanio will have exploratory arthroscopic surgery on his right knee. Team doctor Stuart Hershon said Ausanio possibly has a small tear in the cartilage, the result of a fall on ice while running near his home.
Pittsburgh Pirates -- Purchased 1B Rob Leary from Sioux City of the unaffiliated Northern League.
Toronto Blue Jays -- Signed OF Mike Huff to a one-year contract. Outrighted P Scott Brow to Triple-A Syracuse.

Golden State Warriors -- Placed G Ricky Pierce (bulged disk in his lower back) on the injured list.
Colleges
CIAA -- Named Bowie State F Marquis Melton Newcomer of the Week. A transfer from Columbia Union, Melton had 31 points, 10 rebounds and four steals in two games.
MEAC -- Named Coppin State senior F Michael Thomas co-Player of the Week after Thomas posted season highs in points (15), rebounds (16) and blocks (four) to lead the Eagles to a 99-67 victory over Bowie State, extending Coppin State's home winning streak to 22.
Patriot League -- Named Navy junior G Kate Wells Player of the Week, after she averaged 23.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.5 blocks to lead the Mids to a third-place finish at the Navy Classic. Named Navy freshman G Jenny Thompson Rookie of the Week after she collected 11 points, 10 assists, 13 rebounds and six steals in the Navy Classic.
Goucher College -- Announced that junior setter Laurie Bender (Parkville) has been named to the College Division GTE Academic All-America volleyball third team. Bender, a three-time All-Capital Conference selection and a Russian major, carries a 3.91 GPA.
Dordt -- Announced the resignation of men's basketball coach Rick Vander Berg and named Gred Van Soelen men's basketball coach, effective at the end of the season.
Jackson State -- Fired AD W. C. Gorden, effective yesterday. Announced that VP Elvalee Banks will serve as interim AD.
Michigan State -- Named former Navy coach Gary Tranquill offensive coordinator; Jim Bollman offensive line coach; Glenn Pires defensive line or linebackers coach; and Mark Dantonio secondary coach.

Oklahoma -- Announced that QB Garrick McGee is out of the hospital, where he was treated for a viral infection, but said it is doubtful he will play against Brigham Young in the Copper Bowl on Dec. 29.

Texas Christian -- Signed football coach Pat Sullivan to a five-year contract extension through the 1999 season.
