Not that it comes as a surprise this week, but most of the intriguing TV action is on cable.
* "The Bermuda Triangle: Secrets Revealed" (8-9 p.m., Channel 2) -- Here's a secret for you: I wish they'd send specials like this to the Bermuda Triangle so that they'd disappear. NBC.
* "Kathie Lee . . . Looking for Christmas" (9-10 p.m., Channel 11) -- Frank Gifford is on hand here, as is Regis Philbin, but the ubiquitous Kathie Lee Gifford is the headliner. She gets help from guest stars Tony Randall, Vanessa Williams and Miss America Heather Whitestone. CBS.
* "Turning Point" (10-11 p.m., Channel 13) -- "The Charlotte Lopez Story: Can Dreams Come True?" is a lot more than its title suggests -- at least insofar as it encompasses a lot more than merely a profile of Miss Teen USA Lopez, who was a foster child with many different families before achieving success. This "Turning Point" tells of a lot of other foster children and orphans and provides many more questions than answers, even about Lopez. ABC.
Cable
* "Allegra's Window: Waiting for Grandma" (8-8:30 p.m., NIK) -- This Christmas special takes an interesting approach, which works well because the show, as always, is seen from the point of view of a 3-year-old girl. It's all about the day before Christmas -- and how it seems to drag on endlessly in anticipation of the next day's festivities.
* "Biography: Soupy Sales" (8-9 p.m., A&E;) -- Is this a worthy biography of one of the most famous clowns in kiddie TV 'D history? Well, it beats a pie in the face.
* "The Cronkite Report" (10-11 p.m., DSC) -- In "Christianity Reborn: Prayer and Politics," Cronkite takes on territory more commonly paved by his former CBS cohort Bill Moyers. Cronkite's major focus: How has Christianity adapted as we approach the 21st century? Ed Robbins produces.
* "Tales From the Crypt" (11-11:30 p.m., HBO) -- Considering that "Tales From the Crypt," "Dream On" and "The Larry Sanders Show" are the three best series HBO has to offer, tonight's episode, "In the Groove," is noteworthy because it combines elements of all three. This "Crypt" episode, starring Miguel Ferrer of "Twin Peaks" as a homicidal disc jockey, features Linda Doucett of "Larry Sanders" and Wendie Malick of "Dream On."
