CARJACKING: Southwestern District -- When a resident of the 4400 block of Old York Road arrived in the 2200 block of Rosedale St. Monday after giving a man a ride, the passenger pulled out a handgun and stole the victim's blue 1990 Volkswagen with tags BEA-430.

THEFT/ARREST: Northwestern District -- A 32-year-old man was arrested Monday when he attempted to leave the Super Pride store in the 4600 block of Liberty Heights Ave. without paying for dairy products valued at nearly $3.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A resident of the 4900 block of Palmer Ave. was in the 5200 block of St. Charles Ave. Monday when two men, one with a handgun, robbed him of $30.

CHILD ABUSE: Western District -- Police were seeking a 30-year-old man who sexually abused his son Monday inside an East Baltimore house. The child, a resident of West Fayette St., told police his father has abused him for more than a year.

SUSPICIOUS FIRE: Garrison Precinct -- Someone set a fire early today that destroyed the remains of the Mount Pleasant AME Church in the 200 block of Tolgate Road. The single-story brick church had not been used since an electrical fire nearly a year ago destroyed much of the building. This morning's fire, which was reported at 12:35 a.m. and declared under control at 1:20 a.m., remained under investigation. Responding to the fire was equipment from stations at Reisterstown, Glyndon, Liberty Road, Owings Mills and Lansdowne. No injuries were reported among the firefighters.

HARFORD COUNTY

ARRESTS: Bel Air -- Two men were arrested Monday and charged with stealing property from two cars on Thomas Run Court. Jesse Malone, 20, of the 1100 block of Gastonbury Way, Bel Air, and Michael S. Ward, 19, of the 600 block of Milford Court in Abingdon, were each arrested by Trooper First Class William Hollandsworth following a brief pursuit. The property was recovered. A third suspect is reportedly being sought.
