Emergency closings will be broadcast

Howard Community College's weather-emergency closings will air on Baltimore and Washington television stations affiliated with the three major networks and on 10 area radio stations between 6 p.m. and 9 a.m.

If HCC classes are canceled after the college opens, announcements will be aired in the same manner. A recorded message also will be played on the college's main telephone number at 992-4800.

When county public schools close because of weather emergencies, the HCC classes held at those schools are automatically canceled.
