Three men were arrested on drug charges early yesterday after a trooper smelled PCP during a traffic stop on Route 3 in Anne Arundel County, state police said.
Trooper John Bowman pulled over a 1992 Ford Mustang at 1:26 a.m. on Route 3 northbound, north of Route 450, after the driver allegedly ran a stop sign. He smelled the drug, searched the car and found eight baggies of parsley flakes laced with PCP, 22 grams in all, state police said.
Arrested and charged with possession of PCP with intent to distribute were: Michael Gregory Rowsey, 27, of the 1000 block of Haverhill Road in Baltimore; Donald Dean Bequeth, 22, of Huntingtown in Calvert County; and Earl Francis Lamb Jr., 25, of Chesapeake Beach, Calvert County. They were being held yesterday at the Anne Arundel County Detention Center.
Mr. Bequeth was also charged with a traffic violation and driving under the influence of a drug, police said.
