Two Baltimore men have been charged with armed robbery after a Sykesville woman's purse was stolen in Ellicott City.

According to police, a 52-year-old woman was getting out of her car when a man with a handgun approached her and took her purse. The woman was not injured.

The gunman fled to a nearby car driven by a second man, and the two headed east on Route 40, police said.

Baltimore County police stopped the vehicle on Route 40 in Catonsville based on a description broadcast on police radio. Officers arrested the driver and the passenger after a short foot chase Thursday afternoon, police said.

The woman's purse and a handgun were found in the vehicle, police said.

Jemal Donald Green, 25, of the first block of Woodington Road and Garrison Warren, 26, of Lesada Drive were being held Friday at the Howard County Detention Center.
