Colorado Rockies -- Signed P Joe Grahe (2-5, 6.65 ERA, 13 saves in 40 games for the Angels) to a minor-league contract with Triple-A Colorado Springs and invited him to major-league camp. Agreed to terms with P Kevin Ritz on a one-year contract.

Detroit Tigers -- Signed 1B-OF Franklin Stubbs and P Mike Christopher to minor-league contracts with Triple-A Toledo.

New York Yankees -- Signed IF Tony Fernandez.

Philadelphia Phillies -- Agreed to a one-year contract with former Orioles P Curt Schilling. Announced that P Ben Rivera will undergo arthroscopic surgery Dec. 29 to mend a torn rotator cuff his pitching shoulder.

Pittsburgh Pirates -- Agreed to terms with 3B Jeff King on a one-year contract.

New Orleans Zephyrs (Triple-A) -- Announced that GM Jay Cicero has resigned to become the director of sporting events for the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation.

Sioux City Explorers (Northern League) -- Unaffiliated team sold the contracts of P Marcial Gomez to the Angels and P Barry Goldman to the Rockies. Announced that coach Dan McDermott will return.

Boise Hawks (Northwest League) -- Unaffiliated team announced that manager Tom Kotchman will return.

Seibu Lions (Japanese Pacific League) -- Signed 1B Orestes Destrade, released by the Florida Marlins during the 1994 season, to a one-year contract. Destrade, 32, was the Pacific League's home run leader for three straight years starting in 1990.

Basketball

Atlanta Braves -- Released Russian G Sergei Bazarevich. Signed F Greg "Cadillac" Anderson.

Denver Nuggets -- Activated F Reggie Williams (Dunbar) from the injured list. Placed G Darnell Mee (sprained right ankle) on the injured list.

New York Knicks -- Released G Doc Rivers and F Ron Grandison.
