Philadelphia Phillies -- Signed IF Gregg Jefferies to a four-year contract and P Tommy Greene to a one-year, $2 million contract. Greene, 27, had only seven starts last season, his service limited by a small tear in his rotator cuff. His record was 2-0 after 16-4 in 1993.
Pittsburgh Pirates -- Signed former Orioles OF Luis Mercedes to a minor-league contract.
Toronto Blue Jays -- Signed P Danny Cox to a minor-league contract. Acquired P Scott Pace from the Marlins to complete the November trade that sent IF Eddie Zosky to Florida.
