A Lansdowne man was found shot to death late Tuesday night near his home.
Baltimore County police officers found Joseph William Weigman Jr., 42, lying on the sidewalk in the 2400 block of Smith Ave. at Lorena Avenue about 11 p.m. Tuesday. Mr. Weigman, who lived in the 2400 block of Tionesta Road, had been shot in the head.
A neighbor heard shots and called 911 at 10:58 p.m.
There were no witnesses, and no motive has been established, said Cpl. Kevin Novak, a spokesman for the county Police Department.
This was the second slaying this week in southwest Baltimore County. The first, George Thomas King, Sr., 45, of South Baltimore, a dispatcher for an Arbutus messenger company, was found early Monday behind a trash bin outside the firm.
Police said yesterday they don't think there is a link.
