County police arrested two men after a Severn man was stomped on and beaten Sunday morning and robbed of his watch and money, authorities said.
The attack left George Hutchings, 24, of the 8400 block of Pioneer Drive with a swollen and bloodshot left eye and bruises on his face, but he did not go to the hospital, police
said.
Mr. Hutchings was with a group of men police had under surveillance in the 8300 block of Pioneer Drive shortly after 1 a.m. Officers said they saw Mr. Hutchings arguing with a man who grabbed him and slammed him to the ground with the help of a second man. The assailants beat, stomped and robbed Mr. Hutchings before running off as police approached.
A short distance away, officers apprehended Jermaine Spraggins, 19, of the 1700 block of Independence Court in Severn and George Emory Forrester, 18, of the 400 block of Secluded Post Circle in Glen Burnie. They were charged with assault with intent to murder and robbery, police said.
Crofton pizza place robbed by armed man
A man armed with a 9-mm handgun and wearing a stocking mask robbed a Crofton pizza restaurant of $234 Monday night and ordered the store's employees into the walk-in freezer, county police said.
The gunman walked into the Pizza Boli's in the 2100 block of Defense Highway shortly after 11:30 p.m. and ordered all but one of the employees into the freezer. He forced that employee to clean out the cash register, police said.
After getting the cash, the gunman ordered the last employee into the freezer and robbed each employee. He took $95 of the store's money and $139 from the employees, police said.
