Lillian Louise Poses, 86, a lawyer who worked on the New Deal and was long active in public life, died on Sunday in her apartment in New York City of complications from a stroke. She was among the first women to graduate from New York University's law school and joined the New York bar in 1938, soon after it began admitting women in 1937. She did legal work for the National Recovery Administration and the Works Project Administration, which were part of President Franklin D.
