1 Western (2-0) -- Last week's ranking: 1. In the Greater Baltimore Women's Basketball Mixer, the defending Class 4A state champion Doves defeated H. D. Woodson (D.C.), 81-60, Thursday, and Calvin Coolidge (D.C.), 59-41, Saturday. All-American Chanel Wright scored a combined 47 points in the two games. Next game: Friday at Washington Township (N.J.).

2 Lake Clifton (3-0) -- Last week's ranking: 4. In their tip-off mixer, the Lakers beat Northern, 71-33, Wednesday, and Carver, 67-30, Friday. Saturday, Lashina Gross and DaShawn Coleman scored 20 points apiece in Lake Clifton's 54-50 win over then-No. 2 Hammond in the Greater Baltimore Women's Basketball Mixer. Next game: Today vs. Lake Clifton.

3 Hammond (1-1) -- Last week's ranking: 2. Monday, the defending Class 2A state champion Bears opened their season with a 53-46 win over South Carroll. Saturday, Hammond dropped a 54-50 decision to Lake Clifton in the Greater Baltimore Women's Basketball Mixer. Rene Hines scored 16 against the Lakers. Next game: Thursday vs. Liberty.

4 St. Frances (2-1) -- Last week's ranking: 3. All-Metro forward Melba Chambers scored 23 in the Panthers' 64-37 rout of Severn on Monday. Friday, St. Frances lost to University City (Pa.), 69-55. With most of the starting lineup playing sparingly Saturday, the Panthers breezed to a 42-23 win over Chester (Pa.). Next game: Tomorrow vs. No. 7 St. Mary's at Loyola College.

5 Fallston (2-0) -- Last week's ranking: 6. The Cougars routed North Carroll, 67-28, on Thursday. Saturday, Jenny Weber scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as Fallston defeated St. Mary's, 67-59, in the Greater Baltimore Women's Basketball Mixer. Next game: Friday vs. Elkton.

6 Howard (3-0) -- Last week's ranking: 7. The Lions' began their defense of the Class 3A state title with an 82-24 rout of Frederick on Monday. Wednesday, Howard beat Thomas Johnson, 47-41. Saturday, Chanelle Carter scored 18 in the Lions' 65-31 victory over Liberty. Mona Jackson averaged 19.3 ppg and 7.7 rpg in the three wins. Next game: Saturday vs. No. 4 St. Frances in the Fuel Fund Invitational at UMBC.

7 St. Mary's (1-2) -- Last week's ranking: 5. The Saints routed Bowie, 85-24, in their season opener Tuesday. In the Greater Baltimore Women's Basketball Mixer, St. Mary's lost to Frederick's Prospect Hall, 74-69, Friday, and Fallston, 67-59, Saturday. Next game: Tomorrow vs. No. 4 St. Frances at Loyola College.

8 Old Mill (1-0) -- Last week's ranking: 8. The Patriots rolled to a 64-32 victory over Chesapeake-AA on Friday. Next game: Today vs. Annapolis.

9 Severna Park (2-0) -- Last week's ranking: 9. The Falcons defeated Northern-Calvert, 67-55, Tuesday. Friday, Severna Park beat North County, 58-48. Next game: Today at Chesapeake-AA.

10 Seton Keough (2-0) -- Last week's ranking: 10. The Gators routed Bryn Mawr, 54-26, on Tuesday. Friday, Melanie Morris scored 18 to lead Seton Keough to a 46-30 win over McDonogh. Next game: Tomorrow vs. No. 15 Mount de Sales at St. Mark's.

11 Towson (1-0) -- Last week's ranking: 11. Six-foot-2 center Katie Walker scored 18 points and grabbed 23 rebounds in the Generals' 55-41 victory over Loch Raven on Friday. Next game: Tomorrow at Pikesville.

12 South Carroll (1-1) -- Last week's ranking: 12. The Cavaliers rebounded from a season-opening 53-46 loss to Hammond on Monday to beat Atholton, 58-41, Thursday. Amber Clutter scored 16 against Hammond and Nicole Spencer had 16 points vs. Atholton. Next game: Friday at No. 18 Wilde Lake.

13 Arundel (1-0) -- Last week's ranking: 14. Chavonne Hammond scored 18 in the Wildcats' 66-14 rout of Meade on Friday. Arundel outscored the Mustangs, 58-8, after the first quarter. Next game: Today vs. North County.

14 Westminster (2-0) -- Last week's ranking: 16. The Owls opened their season with victories over two Class 4A state semifinalists. Beth Lister scored 27 in a 65-37 win over Sherwood before Friday's 71-51 victory over Annapolis. Next game: Tomorrow vs. Dulaney.

15 Mount de Sales (2-0) -- Last week's ranking: 17. The Sailors rolled to a 50-10 win over Owings Mills on Wednesday. Saturday, Mount de Sales beat Poly, 54-41. Senior center Amy Buck scored a combined 39 points in the two victories. Next game: Tomorrow vs. No. 10 Seton Keough at St. Mark's.

16 Mount Hebron (1-1) -- Last week's ranking: 13. In their first game under new coach Pat Becker, the Vikings defeated Poly, 54-41, on Tuesday. Saturday, Mount Hebron dropped an 82-63 decision to Linganore. Next game: Today at Thomas Johnson.

17 Randallstown (3-0) -- Last week's ranking: 18. Monday, the Rams rallied from a five-point halftime deficit to defeat Parkville, 60-50. Wednesday, Randallstown routed Dundalk, 64-27, before Friday's 63-48 win over Woodlawn. Next game: Tomorrow vs. Lansdowne.

18 Wilde Lake (2-0) -- Last week's ranking: 20. The Wildcats defeated Westlake, 51-29, in their season opener Friday. Saturday, Wilde Lake edged Southern-Garrett, 49-46. Kristen Riismandel had a combined 38 points, 16 assists and 14 steals in the two games. Next game: Today at Pallotti.

19 Glenelg (2-0) -- Last week's ranking: Unranked. The Gladiators debut in the Top 20 after beating North Carroll, 62-44, Tuesday, and Bel air, 53-23, Friday. Next game: Friday vs. Westlake.

20 Loch Raven (0-1) -- Last week's ranking: 19. The Raiders, who lost to Towson three times last season, dropped their season opener to the Generals, 55-41, on Friday. Next game: Tomorrow vs. Chesapeake-BC.
