North Carroll, ranked No. 4 in the area, amassed 229 points to win Saturday's Meade Tournament.
The Panthers' champions were Damian Davis (119), Adam Boog (125), Corey Rill (130), Tom Kiler (135), Gene Phillips (140), Eric Hott (145) and Bill Beltz (Hwt.).
Eric Giffi (152, second) and Jason Sims (171, second) also reached the finals for the Panthers.
Hott, a Carroll County runner-up last year, had the most impressive victory, downing Howard's third-ranked Eric Paskin, 4-1. Paskin went 30-1 last year, winning county and regional titles and placing third in the 3A-4A state meet.
Sims was most impressive in losing, dropping a 6-2 decision to Meade's sixth-ranked Adam Butts, a county and regional champion who placed second in last year's 3A-4A state tournament behind South Carroll's No. 2-ranked Mike Chenoweth.
Annapolis
A year after pinning himself while he was ahead against the eventual Annapolis Tournament champion, Francis Scott Key's top-ranked Zac Yinger returned to erase the memory of his only loss of last season.
And this time, the state champion left no room for doubt.
Yinger (4-0) pinned one opponent before earning decisions over Mount St. Joseph's third-ranked Tyran Dungee in the semifinal, and DeMatha's fourth-ranked Matt Allman in the title bout for an impressive showing at this year's Annapolis Tournament.
"My first match against Tyran, I knew he'd be physical," said Yinger, referring to his 7-2 decision over Dungee. "Once I got that first takedown, it kind of knocked the wind out of his sails and I was able to get a couple of back-points."
Yinger, an All-Metro last year, scored five back-points in the second period to break a scoreless tie against Allman.
"I didn't think he was very physical so I figured I could muscle him around a little bit," said Yinger. "After losing here last year, I wanted to start out well and try to go undefeated."
Francis Scott Key, ranked No. 5 in the area, finished sixth behind 10th-ranked Broadneck. The Eagles' two-time state champ, All-Metro Randy Owings (145), was third after DeMatha's No. 2-ranked Robert Alexander broke a 5-5 tie with three back-points in the final 25 seconds.
Also placing for the Eagles' were Steve Lessard (135, third), freshman Matt Yinger (112, fourth) and Robert Buntin (171, fourth).
Westminster was 12th in the 16-team field, paced by freshman Bobby Biden (103, second) and Jason Hare (171, third).
Mercersburg
Behind champions Adam Baker (112), Dave Lilly (125) and Nick Hollick (135), Loyola placed nine wrestlers in the top four of their weight classes to win Saturday's Mercersburg (N.J.) Tournament.
Runners-up were Scott Smith (130), Dave Riley (140), Jeremy Smith (145) and Mark Lilly (160).
