Dulaney's individual champion, top-ranked Alex Leanos (135), and runners-up Damon Holmes (160), a transfer from Owings Mills, and Aslan Etthadieh (112) paced the Lions to last weekend's title in the 18-team Pikesville Tournament.
Leanos, a county runner-up who placed second in last year's 3A-4A state tournament, pinned three of his four opponents and scored a 14-2 decision over the other.
Hereford (137.5 points) was second behind champion Glenn Warner (Hwt.), and Sparrows Point (131) was third behind champs Thomas Free (103), Gary Maynor (112) and Sean Mrynca (125).
Host Pikesville (104.5 points, eighth) crowned two champions in Brad Sopher (140) and Chad Hipsley (171). Sopher had two pins and beat his other two opponents by a combined 18-2, and Hipsley pinned twice and had two decisions.
Parkville (109 points, sixth) also had two champions in Paul Kretchmer (130) and William Gaskins (152). Gaskins had three pins and a title bout decision, Kretchmer had two pins, a major decision and a decision.
Ninth placed Dundalk (102.5 points) was led by Dan Simancek (119) and Chris Nixon (140), each of whom pinned three of his four opponents).
Friends (14th, 37.5) had one champion, defending Maryland Scholastic Association champ Ethan Goldberg (160).
In perhaps the tournament's biggest upset, Milford Mill sophomore Greg Ford (189) toppled Hereford's Roy Collins, 6-4, in the semifinals. Collins placed third in the 1A-2A state 'u tournament last year.
K? Ford dropped his title bout, 5-4, to Poly's Darnell Dezurn.
Mercersburg
Behind individual champions Adam Baker (112), Dave Lilly (125) and Nick Hollick (135), Loyola placed nine wrestlers in the top four of their weight classes to easily win Saturday's Mercersburg (N.J.) Tournament.
Runners-up were Scott Smith (130), Dave Riley (140), Jeremy Smith (145) and Mark Lilly (160), with Greg Miller (119) and Owen Kerney (189) finishing third and Dan Cunnane (152) fourth.
Loyola takes on Calvert Hall tomorrow in its season-opening Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association match.
North East
North Harford finished fifth behind two individual champions at last weekend's North East (Cecil) tournament, with Paul Konschak (171) pinning two opponents and winning a 7-0 decision against the other, and junior Tom Staab (189) being equally effective with two pins.
Eagles soar
Aberdeen swept it's quad meet last week by the following scores: Aberdeen 50, Bel Air 18; Aberdeen 61, Mount Hebron 6; and Aberdeen 52, John Carroll 12.
Aberdeen senior Corey Pascuzzi (125) had two pins, including one in 59 seconds, but teammate Kit Doran (160) had the quickest pin, in just 41 seconds.
