Santa Claus is coming to town, and he's stopping nearly everywhere.
* He'll be at the Northern District Police Station community room from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday. All children and those young at heart are invited to visit with Santa and enjoy refreshments. Santa will be distributing gifts to each child who visits with him.
The police station is on Hammonds Lane. If you would like more information, call Officer Joe Hatcher at 222-6135.
* Santa Claus will also be visiting with families from the Arundel Improvement Association neighborhood on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Please note the change in days this year.
Families wanting a visit and goodie from Santa should leave the porch light on. Santa will start his visits at 6:30 p.m.
On Wednesday he will visit Disney Avenue, Cross Street, Wasena Avenue, Wood Avenue, Fourth Street and Patrick Henry Drive.
On Thursday, the schedule is Maggie Street, Taney Street, Moore Street, Liberty Terrace, Roland Terrace, the 700 block of Church St., the 400 block of Stewart Ave., Ballman Avenue and Kramer Avenue.
On Friday he will visit Franklin Avenue, Phillip Street, Pope Street, Maggie Street, Moore Street, Johnson Street, Short Street, Rugby Street, Redmond Street and Fairfax Avenue.
While Santa is making his visits, his helpers will be collecting association dues of $8.
Be sure to be on the lookout for Santa on these three evenings.

St. John Lutheran Church will present its annual Sunday school Christmas program and service, "The Advent Journey," at 10 a.m. Sunday. The church is at 226 Washburn Ave.

Belle Grove Elementary School news: A Christmas concert will be presented at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow in the multipurpose room. The band and string ensemble will perform.
* Santa's Secret Workshop will take place tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday.
Students will able able to browse and preview items tomorrow and then return to make their purchases during recess Wednesday and Thursday or after school from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. The workshop also will be open before and after the Christmas concert.

Brooklyn Park Elementary School news: The media center is sponsoring a school-wide "skate" from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Skate City II on Route 3 in Crofton.
A bus will be available for students needing transportation, at a cost of $4.50 per student. The bus will leave the school at 6 p.m. and return at 9:30 p.m.
Admission to Skate City will be $2.50; skate rental is $1.25.
* The PTA will sponsor a spaghetti dinner and Santa's Workshop from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday.
Advance tickets, which cost $3.50 for adults and $1.50 for children, may be purchased from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. today, tomorrow and Wednesday at the school. Tickets at the door will cost $4 for adults and $2 for children.
Children are invited to purchase their family gifts at Santa's Workshop in the media center.

North County High School news: The Student Government Association (SGA) will sponsor a Christmas dance from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday in the school cafeteria.
Tickets are $5 per person and will be sold during lunch periods Wednesday through Friday.
All proceeds will benefit Toys for Tots.
* The SGA also is collecting hats, mittens and gloves for the homeless. Donations may be hung on the Christmas tree in the main lobby.
* The Band Parents meeting will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the band room. Activities and fund raisers will be discussed.

Brooklyn Heights United Methodist Church will perform its Sunday school Christmas program at the 11 a.m. worship service Sunday.

The Belle Grove Improvement Association will have its annual covered-dish Christmas meeting from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Belle Grove Elementary School.
Everyone in the community is invited to share in this holiday get-together.

Harbor Hospital Center news: The next cardiopulmonary resuscitation course offered by the center is scheduled from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. today.
The course will teach American Heart Association standards for CPR and emergency cardiac care and will include an instructional segment on adult CPR as will as skills and written examination. Participants will be issued a course completion card.
The cost of the program is $20. Registration is required.

* The hospital also is offering a free program, "Nutrition: What's New for the Heart?" at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Gruehn Auditorium.
The program will be the final one in the 1994 Harbor Heart Talk series. A registered dietitian will discuss topics ranging from new food labels to products carry the LifeCourse heart-healthy rating.
Healthy holiday refreshments will be served. Free, secured parking is available in the patient lot.
