Williams, Camper lead Terps over Rutgers, 76-73 STATE WOMEN

Sophomore guard Kwana Williams scored 17 points and Kesha Camper added 16 as Maryland held off Rutgers, 76-73, in a women's college basketball game yesterday in Piscataway, N.J.

Maryland (4-2) built a 64-52 lead late in the second half before Rutgers (2-5) went on a 10-0 run to close the gap to 64-62 with 4:13 remaining.

Forward Stephanie Cross added 13 points for the Terrapins.

* Frostburg State 55, Lebanon Valley 45: Shelly Ridgeway scored 23 points as Frostburg State (4-3) defeated Lebanon Valley (3-4) in the Gallaudet University Invitational Tournament championship game.

* George Mason 84, Coppin State 59: Keri Chaconas led all scorers with 32 points to power host George Mason (1-4) past Coppin State (2-4).

Natasha Parks and Lisa Jarmon led Coppin with 15 points apiece.

* UMBC 41, Temple 37: Senior center Eunice French led visiting UMBC (2-4) past winless Temple (0-3). French had 12 points and a game-high 14 rebounds.

* Washington College 67, Gallaudet 61: Ebony Taylor scored 25 points as visiting Washington College (2-4) defeated Gallaudet (2-5) in the consolation game of the Gallaudet University Invitational Tournament. Allison Wentworth (Old Mill) added 17 points for the Shoremen.

* Stony Brook 57, Goucher 49: Senior forward Cassandra Clemons scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds in a losing effort for visiting Goucher.

Sarah Weaver (Towson) and Alice Weaver each added 10 points for the Gophers.

* Salisbury State 78, Marymount 74: Amy Fenzel scored 24 points to lead host Salisbury State (5-2) over Marymount.

* Baltimore City CC 55, Prince George's CC 35: Laveairia Reed led Baltimore City (1-1) with 19 points as it downed host Prince George's (0-3).
