Police arrest 2 women on drug charges in raids

County police arrested two people on drug charges and seized an assault rifle and handgun Thursday night in raids on two Glen Burnie apartments in the Valley Brook complex, authorities said.

Tracy Charlene Devilbiss, 21, and Trina Yvette Downs, 27, residents of one of the apartments in the 100 block of Sloane Drive that was raided, were both charged with possession of cocaine, police said.

Police said no one was home at the other apartment.

Detectives obtained warrants for both apartments as part of a continuing investigation into suspected drug dealing at the complex, police said.

Baltimore man accused of theft from store

County police arrested a Baltimore man Wednesday afternoon on charges of trying to steal a compact disc player from a Caldor store at Cromwell Field Shopping Center, authorities said.

Police said a security officer at the store in the 7300 block of Baltimore and Annapolis Blvd. reported seeing a man walk in the store about 3 p.m., pick up a Sony compact disc player worth $180 from a display and leave without paying for it.

The security officer followed the man to another store in the shopping center and called police, who arrested the man inside the second store, police said.

Chuckie Maurice Donaldson, 37, of the 2300 block of Norfolk St. was charged with theft under $300, police said.

Construction gear stolen from trailer

Thieves cut the padlock off a storage trailer in the 600 block of Hollins Ferry Road Wednesday and stole specialized construction equipment worth $7,200, county police said.

An employee for James Julian Inc., also in the 600 block of Hollins Ferry Road, told police the theft occurred between 12:30 a.m. and 7 a.m. Two electric drills worth $1,600, two gas drills worth $1,600 and a $4,000 generator were stolen, police said.

Edgewater man arrested on drug charges after raid

County police arrested an Edgewater man on drug charges Wednesday night after they raided his home and found a small amount of suspected cocaine and suspected marijuana, authorities said.

Ralph Eugene Creighton, 40, of the 3400 block of South River Terrace was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

Police also found pipes and syringes during the raid at 8:30 p.m., authorities said.

Catonsville man robbed by armed woman

A Catonsville man was robbed by an armed woman in Linthicum Wednesday night, authorities said.

Donald Holler, 45, of the first block of Moss View Court was with his wife at the time of the robbery. Neither was injured, police said.

The couple left Snyder's Willow Grove in the 800 block of Hammonds Ferry Road shortly after 9 p.m. when a woman approached and asked them for a ride, police reported. Once in their car, the woman pulled a .38-caliber revolver, pointed it at Mr. Holler and demanded his money. After the woman got his money, she took his car keys and threw them across the parking lot so he couldn't follow her. She drove off in a pickup truck, police said.

Severn man attacked, robbed of car stereo

A Severn man was struck in the head Thursday night and robbed of a car stereo he was carrying as he walked home from work, county police said.

Officers were called to the 1800 block of Arwell Court shortly before 9 p.m., where they found Gerald Ruffin, 30, who lives in that block, lying in the street bleeding from the head and face.

Mr. Ruffin, who was treated at North Arundel Hospital and released, told police six youths approached him and offered to trade drugs for the car stereo. He said he tried to walk away when one or more of the youths hit him from behind, police said.

Mr. Ruffin did not know how many times he was hit or what was used to hit him. The officer found a 10-pound rock lying next to Mr. Ruffin, police said.

Man accused of stabbing twin brother during fight

County police arrested a Severn man accused of stabbing his twin brother in the hand Thursday afternoon, authorities said.

Police were called to a house in the 600 block of Jones Road, where they found Floyd Pearson, 36. Mr. Pearson said he was attacked and cut on the hand with a 9-inch steak knife after he argued with his brother, police reported.

Police arrested Thomas Lee Pearson, 36, also of the 600 block of Jones Road on charges of assault, battery and possession of a deadly weapon.

Floyd Pearson was released from North Arundel Hospital after being treated for a 4-inch cut to his right hand, police and hospital officials said.
