With all the promises in cosmetics advertising and magazine hints on looking more beautiful, why are women still staring into mirrors wondering how to beautify? Cosmetics application requires a certain amount of technique and some of us have never had the lesson, that's why.
Enter Emmy-winning makeup artist David Clark.
He did makeup for the Oscar winning film "The Right Stuff," won two Emmys for work on TV documentaries, has made up stars like Cher, Madonna, Sophia Loren, Winona Ryder, Janet Jackson. He has powdered and blushed stars for soaps such as "The Guiding Light" and "The Young and the Restless."

Mr. Clark is touring the country for the Almay cosmetics company and will be making two visits to F&M; stores in the area tomorrow and Saturday.
"I pick women for demonstrations who many people can relate to," he says, "and from there I will talk about color and application."
He then talks one-on-one with interested women drawing up a personal color chart with concentration on problem areas.
"A live and lively group is a lot of fun and everybody tends to get into it," he says.
"Most women are quick studies," he says. What they want is some lessons.
A common point of confusion and error, he says, is where to put the lighter shade in a two-tone eye shadow combination.
Light on top, dark on lid, right? Wrong.
Putting the lighter color on the lid and the deeper shade to contour the brow opens up the eyes and makes them look twice as big, says Mr. Clark.
We tried and it works.
