Former Spirit president and coach Kenny Cooper will be president, 10-percent owner and perhaps coach of Tampa Bay's 1995-96 National Professional Soccer League expansion franchise.

The announcement will be made today in St. Petersburg, Fla., where the team will play in the 7,500-seat Bay Front Center. The team will be under the umbrella of American Soccer International Limited, which will hold summer camps for youngsters in Baltimore, Virginia and Tampa.

"It's been a four-month magical mystery tour," said Cooper, who is a partner in the venture with Virginia businessman Bill Collins and sports agent Tony Agnone. "It took us to Greensboro, Jacksonville, Orlando, San Antonio, Austin, Houston, Norfolk [Va.], and finally Tampa Bay."
