Robber takes security tape from gas station

THE BALTIMORE SUN

A man who robbed an Arnold gas station early yesterday made off with an undisclosed amount of money and the tape to the station's video monitoring system, county police said.

The man walked into the food market section of the Sunoco station in the 1500 block of Ritchie Highway shortly after 2 a.m., announced a robbery and lifted his sweater to reveal a black object that the clerk believed to be a gun, police said.

The man walked behind the counter, took money from the cash register, then ordered the clerk to take him to an office, where he also took the videocassette tape that recorded the robbery. He left the clerk in the office and escaped by running south on Ritchie Highway, police said.
