Two gunmen rob Lothian gas station

Two men armed with automatic weapons robbed a Lothian gas station of an undisclosed amount of money Monday night, county police said yesterday.

The men walked into the Sisko Coastal station in the 5800 block of Southern Maryland Boulevard about 7:30 p.m., wearing three-quarter-length coats, hoods that were pulled tightly around their faces heads and black scarves over their faces, police said.

One gunman stuck his weapon in the ribs of the clerk and threatened to kill her as he led her behind the counter. The other took the manager, 32-year-old Kenneth Murvin, behind the counter and had him get the money from the cash register. The suspects made both victims lie on the floor while they fled,

police said.

Stabbing victim denies being hurt

A young man who was assaulted Monday night as he left a friend's house on Copeland Street told Annapolis police he was uninjured and ushered officers from his home -- all the while bleeding from two stab wounds in his lower back, police said yesterday.

Police left the youth's house in the 1800 block of Whiton Court, but questioned him again later at Anne Arundel Medical Center.

During the second interview, the youth told police that a man approached him as he was leaving a house in the 1900 block of Copeland St. about 11 p.m., mumbled something, stabbed him, knocked him to the ground and tried to stab him again.

The youth said he wrestled the knife away from his assailant, who fled, then walked to the house on Whiton Court.

Two lanes to close on Rowe Boulevard
