Hoffman surge shoots Hopkins past F&M;, 76-64 STATE WOMEN

Senior forward Karen Hoffman hit eight of 11 shots in the second half, scoring all of her game-high 16 points, to lead visiting Johns Hopkins (5-2) to a 76-64 victory over Franklin and Marshall (4-2) yesterday.

Becky Jensen and Amelia Mikula added 11 and 10 points, respectively, for the Blue Jays. Lori Leanord grabbed 12 rebounds for Hopkins.

* Western Md. 71, Dickinson 64: Sandi DeJager scored 20 points and Denise Spangler added 12 points and 14 rebounds to lead Western Maryland (5-1, 3-0) over Dickinson (3-2, 2-1) in a Centennial Conference game.

* Washington 62, Muhlenberg 50: Allison Wentworth (Old Mill) scored 20 points to lead Washington College (2-3) over visiting Muhlenberg College (1-5).

* Goucher 70, Shenandoah 58: Junior forward Didi Cotton (Western) scored a game-high 18 points, including three straight three-pointers during a 19-4 second-half run, to lift host Goucher (4-2).

* Bowie State 56, Hampton 43: Yetisha Mackey scored 16 points as host Bowie State (6-0) defeated Hampton University (1-5).
