Howard U. tops Navy, 90-82, despite Wells' 24 STATE WOMEN

Alisha Hill and Denique Graves each scored 19 points, leading host Howard University to a 90-82 victory over Navy in a women's college basketball game last night.

Graves had 11 rebounds and Hill 10 for the Bison (2-3). Candice Hynes added 18 points, and Melissa Young had 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Kate Wells led all scorers with 24 points and eight rebounds for Navy (2-3). Adria Schneck had 22 points and eight rebounds.

Howard shot 32-for-60 from the field, including 20-for-34 in the second half. Navy shot 26-for-63 from the field.

* Frederick CC 85, Penn State (Mont Ato) 21: Freshman Nicole Mamula scored 21 points and added nine assists to help host Frederick Community College (3-1) defeat Penn State-Mont Ato (1-4).

Freshman Ashanta Sellars contributed 20 points for the Cougars.
