An Anne Arundel County employee has filed suit against Anne Arundel County and former County Executive Robert R. Neall, alleging that he was unfairly demoted from his $68,000-a-year job three years ago.
Louis L. Rochez of the 200 block of King George St. in Annapolis is seeking $750,000,alleging that he was given no explanation when he was removed as assistant chief administrative officer Dec. 5, 1991.
He was reassigned to serve as manager of financial services in the Department of Public Works and forced to take a $10,000-a-year pay cut, according to the suit filed late Friday.
Mr. Rochez charged in the suit that he was told the position was being eliminated from the budget, but when it was restored six months later, someone else got the job.
The suit alleges that the county violated his rights to due process because he was denied a hearing before he was demoted.
Judson P. Garrett, the outgoing county attorney, could not comment last night.
