A Severn man and woman were arrested Saturday afternoon after the man allegedly pointed a gun at four people during a traffic dispute at Disney and Annapolis roads, county police said yesterday.
According to police, Dana Monique Daniels, 22, of Severn, was ** driving away from the Ridgeview Plaza shopping center in the 2600 block of Annapolis Road shortly before 1 p.m. when she was cut off by a man driving a red Toyota.
Ms. Daniels, whose three passengers included a 9-year-old-boy and a 2-year-old girl, pulled up beside the driver, exchanged words, threw a can at his car and drove off, police said.
The Toyota pulled beside Ms. Daniels' car at the intersection of Disney and Annapolis roads and the driver pointed a .22 caliber gun at her, Ms. Daniels told police. She said she turned down Disney Road.
The Toyota followed her a short distance before stopping.
Ms. Daniels called 911 with a description of the car. Police stopped the Toyota at a liquor store parking lot in the 1600 block of Annapolis Road and arrested the man and a passenger, who allegedly had the gun in her purse, authorities said.
Eugene Mathews, 39, of the 1800 block of Jaybird Court, was charged with four counts of assault and four count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to injure.
Marsha Hopkins, 41, of the same address, was charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon, police said.
Severn man robbed of clothing, cash
A Severn man was knocked to the ground and robbed of his clothing and an undisclosed amount of money Saturday morning after he asked a man for a light in the 1000 block of Reece Road, county police said yesterday.
Myung In Kim, 26, who was not injured, told police he was walking along Reece Road shortly before 5 a.m. when a man approached him. When he asked the man if he had a light, the suspect reached into his jacket and pulled out a knife, police said.
After he knocked Mr. Kim down, he ordered the victim to hand over his clothes, police said.
Mr. Kim took off all his clothes except his underwear.
The man gathered up his clothes and ran off on Reece Road, police said.
