All county high school chess players are invited to compete in the eighth annual Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Chess Tournament Jan. 14 at North County High School.
Proceeds will help pay for school activities and programs.

Boys and girls from ages of 6 and 15 are invited to play. Registration fees are $25 for one child and $40 for two or more.

Linthicum-Ferndale Athletic Association will sponsor a holiday basketball tournament Dec. 27-30 for children age 10 and under, B and C level teams. All games in the double elimination tournament begin at 6 p.m. at the Curtis Bay Coast Guard Yard.
Registration fees are $100 per team plus the referee fee for each game. Deadline for registration is Saturday. For more information, call 859-8484.
