1. Mayor Kurt L. Schmoke recently took part in a ground breaking ceremony for the Woodlands at Coldspring, Greenspring Avenue and Spring Garden Drive, where Ryland Homes is building 46 single-family homes.
The Garnett is one of two fully decorated models to be opened. It has 1,804 square feet of finished living space and a starting price of $152,000.
An entry foyer leads to a coat closet and an 11-by-10-foot living room on the left. Across the rear there is a 17-by-11-foot family room, 11-by-10-foot dining room, 11-by-12-foot kitchen, laundry room and powder room.
The second-floor master suite has a 16-by-12-foot bedroom, walk-in closet and full bath. Two more bedrooms, a linen closet and a full hall bath complete this level. A two-car garage and an unfinished basement also are standard.
A split foyer with a base price of $137,000 for 1,200 square feet, the Alexander will be the other model. It comes with a double garage and an unfinished basement.
With 2,000 square feet and a beginning price of $162,900, the Mansfield is the largest and most expensive home offered at the Woodlands.

With a base price of $132,500, the Summerville is the least expensive home offered. It is a traditional two-story home with 1,300 square feet of finished living space.
The entry foyer is flanked by a 14-by-12-foot living room on the left and a coat closet and powder room on the right. At the rear there is a 16-by-12-foot eat-in kitchen and 11-by-9-foot dining room.
Upstairs are a 14-by-12-foot master bedroom with a walk-in closet, two additional bedrooms and a full hall bath. A master bath is optional.
Willow Hill's largest and most expensive home is the Sweetbriar, which has 1,808 square feet and a starting price of $146,550.
The Charleston is a 1,084-square-foot, three-level split starting at $135,750. It has a two-car garage, three bedrooms, one full and one half-bath, a kitchen and living, dining and family rooms.
