Westing receives award from nurses association

Judith Westing, a registered nurse and professor of nursing at Harford Community College, has received the Outstanding Leadership Award from the Maryland Nurses Association.

Ms. Westing has represented the Maryland Nurses Association for several years as a delegate to the American Nurses Association convention. She is secretary of the Harford Branch of the American Association of University Women and a board member and past president of Harford Hospice Inc.

In 1992, Ms. Westing received an excellence award for outstanding classroom teaching from the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development.

Kenney honored by dental academy

Dr. W. Michael Kenney, after passing a rigorous examination in implant dentistry, was elected to associate fellowship status at the American Academy of Implant Dentistry's 1994 annual meeting in New Orleans. Dr. Kenney practices in Fallston.

Before the examination, Dr. Kenney was required to complete 300 hours of postdoctoral instruction in implant dentistry and dental implant cases on three patients. To earn associate fellowship status, he presented the cases for review by an expert panel of implant dentists.
