Rallying from a 16-point halftime deficit, Salisbury State beat Wilmington, 70-68, in the first round of the Salisbury Optimist Classic last night.
Kyle Jefferson had a team-high 20 points and 12 rebounds.
The Sea Gulls (2-2) shot 51 percent (18-for-36) in the second half. Wilmington (4-2) was out-rebounded 53-41.
* Brandeis 67, Johns Hopkins 54: Chris Schneider scored 19 and was 3-for-3 from three-point range to lead visiting Brandeis (4-0) over the Blue Jays (1-4).
Hopkins' Greg Roehrig scored 14.
