Joe Montana, considered by many the best quarterback in NFL history, plans to retire after this season, the New York Daily News says in today's editions, attributing its report to sources around the league.
Montana, 38, who seriously considered retirement after last season, ranks 14th in the league in passing and is recovering from a sprained foot.
