Banks to coach women's basketball at Catonsville

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Jerome Banks was named women's basketball coach at Catonsville Community College last week.

Banks replaces Art St. Martin, who resigned after a dispute with Catonsville athletic director Gary Keedy over the school's policy regarding two-sport athletes, Keedy said.

St. Martin compiled a 71-27 record at Catonsville over four seasons. Before his job with the Cardinals, St. Martin led Brooklyn Park High School's girls basketball team to a record six state titles -- including an unprecedented five straight from 1985 to 1989.

Banks had been an assistant coach at Baltimore City Community College, Dundalk Community College and Southwestern High School.
