* ESCAPEE: Central District -- A 30-year-old convicted burglar escaped from a downtown prison yesterday by failing to return from a job interview. It was the first time David Pfister, a pre-release inmate, had been allowed to leave the Baltimore City Correctional Center for work, a Division of Correction spokeswoman said. But he did not return from an interview in Glen Burnie and was reported missing about 1:45 p.m. Pfister had been serving a six-year sentence for two counts of burglary and a probation violation. His last address was in the 1300 block of Morling Ave. in Baltimore.

* ARMED ROBBERY: Southern District -- Two assailants, one armed with a sawed-off shotgun, robbed a 21-year-old man of a (( Fila jacket worth $100 at 2:15 p.m. yesterday in the 1500 block of Washington Blvd. The suspects fled in a 1991 Ford Taurus.

* BURGLARY: Southern District -- Someone broke the front window of Charles Street Liquors in the 1100 block of S. Charles St. and took several bottles of soda between 8 p.m. Monday and 3 a.m. yesterday.

* BURGLARY: Southern District -- Someone broke into the Alcatraz Club through a vent on the roof of the converted warehouse in the 1800 block of Bayard St. yesterday morning. No property was taken.

* BURGLARY: Eastern District -- Someone broke through a wall at Central Carryout in the 1400 block of N. Central Ave. about 1 a.m. yesterday, but ran when an alarm sounded.

* AGGRAVATED ASSAULT: Eastern District -- A 28-year-old woman was beaten and her collarbone was broken Monday night about 10 p.m. in the 1200 block of N. Eden St. She reported the assault to police yesterday.

* ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A man in his 20s armed with a handgun held up a woman Monday night in the 2700 block of W. Cold Spring Lane. He stole $100 in cash from the victim.

* BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- Someone forced open the door to a house in the 3300 block of Spaulding Ave. about 10 p.m. It was unknown if anything was taken.

* ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Two men armed with handguns robbed a 23-year-old man and stole property worth $580. The crime occurred on Nov. 17, but was reported yesterday.

* BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- Someone forced open a rear basement window and broke into a house in the 2800 block of Chelsea Terrace about 6 p.m. Monday and stole property worth $3,260.

* ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Two men, one armed with a sawed-off shotgun, robbed a woman of $150 boots and $100 in cash Monday about 9:30 p.m. in the 4300 block of Wabash Ave.

* ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A man armed with a .38 caliber handgun robbed another man Monday morning about 3:15 a.m. and stole $10. One suspect was arrested.
