A clerk at the Ridgeville Gas & Go station was forced to open a safe and turn over an undisclosed amount of money to a robber about 5:45 a.m. yesterday.
State police said they were called to the station in the first block of Ridgeville Blvd. by the clerk, who said he was opening the office when a man put a hard object against his back, forced him inside the building and demanded money.
The clerk placed the cash in a bank bag and the robber fled.
Police said they were told that a second man may have been outside the office during the holdup. The victim was able to give police only a sketchy description of the robber.
Investigators ask anyone who saw a vehicle or the robber at the station yesterday morning to call the Westminster barracks at 848-3111.
