GIRLS COACH OF THE YEAR
* Steve Carnahan, Oakland Mills -- The girls team won the county championship for the first time. It also won the regional championship, Pallotti Invitational and Howard County Invitational, and it finished third in the state Class 2A meet. The Oakland Mills boys team won its eighth state championship in 11 years and its 11th straight regional championship, but was third at the county championships.

* Dana Strickland, Atholton, Jr. -- State Class 2A champ (21:49); county champ (19:44); Class 2A South Region champ (20:55); Pallotti Invitational champ; second at Georgetown Invitational; third at Meade, University of Maryland and Meade Invitationals; Strickland was first-team All-Metro and All-County last season.

* Lauren Drake, Oakland Mills, Soph. -- Fourth at county championships (21:01); fourth at Class 2A South Region championships (21:44); third at state Class 2A championships (22:25); Arundel Invitational champ; won a quad meet; third at Pallotti Invitational; All-County last season.
* Amanda Fleck, Mount Hebron, Sr. -- Fifth at county championships (21:16); second at Class 3A East Region championships (21:27); 19th at state Class 3A championships (23:17); fourth at Arundel Invitational; second and fourth in quad meets; ninth at Harford Invitational; All-County last season.
* Heather Mancini, Mount Hebron, Sr. -- Sixth at county championships (21:16); fourth at Class 3A East region championships (21:32); 26th at state Class 3A championships (23:50).
* Dawn Strait, Oakland Mills, Jr. -- Seventh at county championships (21:25); fifth at Class 2A South Region championships (21:58); 18th at state Class 2A champinships (23:52).
