Omar Cooper scored a game-high 17 points to lead Jersey City State (1-1) to a 79-71 win over Goucher College (0-2) in the consolation game of the Gothic Knight Tip-Off Tournament yesterday in Jersey City, N.J.
David Clark (Catonsville) led Goucher with 18 points.
* Washington 80, Muskingum 73, OT: Ben Harris led all scorers with 26 points as Washington (2-0) edged Muskingum (1-1) in the Blue Jay Classic championship game. Harris was named tournament MVP.
* Longwood 71, Bowie State 63: Benji Webb scored a game-high 21 points to lead Longwood.
* Essex CC 115, Jamestown 91: Walt Wright scored 27 points and Sean Lipscomb (Dunbar) added 24 as visiting Essex Community College (1-2) beat Jamestown (N.Y.) CC (1-4).
Women
* Johns Hopkins 73, Widener 24: Karen Hoffman had 14 points, nine rebounds and seven assists to lead Johns Hopkins (1-0) to a rout of Widener (0-1) in a Blue Jay Classic semifinal. Johns Hopkins will face Bridgewater today at 3 p.m. in the championship game.
* Western Maryland 68, Lebanon Valley 57: Heidi Snyder, who led the Green Terror in scoring with 19, rebounds with 14 and assists with four, paced Western Maryland (1-1) to a consolation victory at the Spartan Invitational in York, Pa.
* Frostburg State 89, Shenandoah 78: Yvonne Bashow had 26 points as Frostburg State won the consolation of the Little Caesars Classic.
* Cabrini 59, College of Notre Dame 57: Stephanie Owen made the game-winning layup with six seconds left as Cabrini captured the CND Tip-Off Tournament.
* Randolph-Macon 83, Washington 58: Jenn Kohler scored 17 points and Katy Parrish added 14, leading host Randolph-Macon (2-0) past visiting Washington College (0-2) in the Ramada Tip-Off Doubleheader.
