A Crofton jewelry store was robbed of diamonds worth $200,000 Wednesday evening by two men who threatened the employees with a gun and a knife and forced them into a storage room.
The men walked into Parisi Jewelers in the 1100 block of Route 3 North about 5:30 p.m. and looked at merchandise for about 20 minutes. One of the men put a pizza box on the counter with a note on top informing the sales clerk that a robbery was in progress, police said.
One man held a pistol to the sales clerk's head and forced her to open the diamond display case. The other man forced a woman out of an office at knifepoint and then ordered both women into the storage room.
The men tried to get Kenneth Parisi, 31, to open a watch display case, but the lock stuck. They took Mr. Parisi's watch and forced him into the storage room with the two women, police said.
The employees were not injured.
Both suspects are black. One is 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs about 175 pounds. He is in his mid-20s and has a rough complexion. He was wearing a Dallas Cowboys cap, a black nylon jacket, light blue jean pants and thick eyeglasses.
The other is 6 feet tall and weighs 190 pounds. He is in his mid-30s and has a beard. He was wearing an Oakland Athletics baseball cap, a brown leather jacket, a navy sweat suit and white athletic shoes.
