Goalie accused of taking bribes

LONDON -- The English Football Association has charged former Liverpool goalkeeper Bruce Grobbelaar with accepting bribes to fix matches.

FA chief executive Graham Kelly said Grobbelaar could continue playing for Southampton pending a hearing.

A London paper, The Sun, reported last week that the Zimbabwean, who has 14 days to prove his innocence, took bribes from a Far East gambling syndicate to fix games with Liverpool and Southampton.
