AGE: 16

Brian is a straight-A student who serves as the National Honor Society vice-president. He's a member of the French Club and the Student Government Association's executive board despite taking a heavy load of advanced placement and honors classes.

Brian was recently named a finalist in the Maryland Distinguished Scholar program and a commended student in the National Merit Scholarship competition.

He works on the school's homecoming committee and plays for the school's baseball team, a sport that earned him a letter last year.

Outside of school, Brian volunteers weekly to tutor students at Saint John's Lane Elementary School. He participates in the Adopt-A-Child and Adopt-A-Family programs and plays for the Daytona Raiders Baseball Club.

PLANS: He wants to major in science or math.

HIS COMMENTS: "I work hard to maintain my grade-point-average while taking the most challenging courses I can," he said. "I take pride in my grades. I draw strength from it."
