The Terps (10-4-1, 2-3 in the Atlantic Coast Conference) had leads of 1-0 and 2-1, and never trailed until Joseph's goal at the 83:26 mark.
Coach I. M. Ibrahim, who reportedly was suspended for hitting an assistant coach, returned to the sidelines for the first time in five games for Clemson (10-6, 2-3).
