David Lowell Ladd, 68, a former register of copyrights in the Library of Congress and a former commissioner of patents in the Patent and Trademark Office, died of heart ailments on Oct. 12 in Alexandria, Va.
Jack D. Tippit, 70, a syndicated cartoonist whose work included the long-running comic strip "Henry," died Friday in Lubbock, Texas. His cartoons appeared in such magazines as the New Yorker, Ladies Home Journal, Look and the Saturday Evening Post over a 30-year span.
