N. Harford nips co-No. 1 Fallston

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Midfielder Keith Smith scored with five minutes left in the first half, and North Harford's defense made it stand up, as the Hawks knocked off Fallston (8-1-1), the area's co-No. 1 team, 1-0, yesterday.

In the process, North Harford (9-0-1) ended Fallston's run of 29-0-4 against Harford County teams, a record that started in 1990.

Kevin Piccolo, a 4-foot-11 sophomore, crossed the ball from deep in the right corner and Smith kicked it through goalkeeper Eric McPhee into the near corner.

Fallston outshot the Hawks, 20-7.
