Among the programs on TV tonight: ABC looking at infidelity, PBS looking at immortality, and CBS providing dramatic inanity.
* "Touched by an Angel." (9-10 p.m., WBAL, Channel 11) -- Here's the inanity -- although this plot, in which Nia Peeples guest stars as a woman with a steamy past helped by Roma Downey's angel, contains hints of infidelity and immortality as well. CBS.
* "The American Experience: Telegrams From the Dead." (9-10 p.m., WMPT, Channel 22 and Channel 67) -- THIS IS THE KING-STOP-WHY DID MY DAUGHTER MARRY THE KING OF POP-STOP-MAKE HER STOP-STOP . . . Actually, there are no bulletins from Elvis here -- just an interesting documentary about the "spiritualism craze" of the mid-19th century, one with which even Abraham Lincoln briefly flirted. A typical seance of the period is re-created, and the potential for scams examined. PBS.
* "Law & Order." (10-11 p.m., WMAR, Channel 2) -- Lawyer William M. Kunstler, a familiar name to most '60s-era activists, guest stars as himself in this story about the apprehension and trial of a longtime political fugitive. NBC.
* "Turning Point." (10-11 p.m., WJZ, Channel 13) -- In this case, the "Turning Point" in question is not chronological, but emotional. Barbara Walters devotes an hour to infidelity -- talking to wives, husbands, investigators, listening in on intimate radio talk shows, and having a lot of arty images of frosted panes and darkened hotel rooms fill in the missing visuals. The couples interviewed separately about the hurts in their marriages speak frankly and openly -- so much so that, at times, it falls into David Letterman's category of "too much information." ABC.
* "48 Hours." (10-11 p.m., WBAL, Channel 11) -- "Fear of Fat" takes a two-day look at dieting -- which doesn't necessarily mean this episode of "48 Hours" is lightweight. CBS.

* "Olivier, Olivier." (8-9:50 p.m., MAX) -- If you saw the film "Europa, Europa," you'll want to see tonight's broadcast premiere of "Olivier, Olivier." It's the sequel, sequel.
* "On a Clear Day You Can See Forever." (11:05 p.m.-1:20 a.m., AMC) -- Yeah, but on a dull night, you can only see this.
