Man charged with cocaine possession

A Northern District officer arrested a man on drug charges Saturday after following a car in which the suspect had been riding.

Officer Max Weinstein had received an anonymous tip that someone in a tan Toyota Celica had bought drugs in the 200 block of South Bridge Drive, police said.

About 5 p.m., a half-hour after getting the tip, he saw a Toyota Celica stop on South Bridge Drive and witnessed what he believed to be a drug buy.

He then followed the car and stopped it at the intersection of Freetown and Whitaker roads.

He searched two people in the car and found four plastic bags of suspected cocaine on one of them, police said.

Grady Henderson Jr., 28, of the 7700 block of Freetown Road was charged with possession of crack cocaine, police said.
