Major League Baseball -- Announced that the major and minor leagues agreed to defer the deadline for reopening the Professional Baseball Agreement for one year until Sept. 30, 1995.
Chicago Cubs -- Sent P Blaise Ilsley outright to Triple-A Iowa.
Florida Marlins -- Named Larry Rothschild pitching coach. He was pitching coach of the Cincinnati Reds in 1992-1993.
Los Angeles Dodgers -- Named Mike Scioscia catching instructor.
Pittsburgh Pirates -- Named Marc Hill manager of Single-A Lynchburg and Jim Bibby pitching coach at Lynchburg.
San Diego Padres -- Named Jon Matlack pitching coach with Triple-A Las Vegas and Al Hargesheimer as a scout and pitching coach for Rookie-level Peoria.
San Francisco Giants -- Placed P Bud Black, four-time All-Star OF Willie McGee, OF Dave Martinez and 1B Todd Benzinger on waivers for the purpose of sending them outright to Triple-A. They are expected to become free agents.
Seattle Mariners -- Activated P Greg Hibbard and P Ted Power from the 60-day DL and P Chris Bosio and P Shawn Boskie from the 15-day DL. Designated Power for assignment. Announced that OF Keith Mitchell refused outright assignment to Triple-A and chose to become a free agent. Announced that they did not offer a contract to pitching coach Sammy Ellis. Named Matt Sinatro coach and Bobby Cuellar pitching coach; Cuellar has been in the organization for 12 years.
