Virginia Union rushes past Bowie for 26-14 victory

BOWIE -- Bobby Phillips ran for 148 yards and a touchdown to lead Virginia Union (1-3, 1-2) to a 26-14 win over Bowie State yesterday in a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association game.

The Bulldogs (1-4, 1-4) were led by Chris Banks, who intercepted his fifth pass and made 13 tackles.

Darrell Foote's first touchdown pass, a 13-yarder to Monty Bennett in the fourth quarter, ended a 19-quarter scoreless streak.
